Calls for reciprocating positively Centre’s peace move

SRINAGAR, MAY 18 (KNO) : Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has expressed deep shock and grief over the death of five persons, including a BSF jawan, who were killed in cross border firing incident in the R S Pura sector of Jammu today.

The Chief Minister described the incident as unfortunate saying it occurred when the holy month of Ramadhan had just begun and people had heaved sigh of relief due to the Centre’s welcome step of halting security operations in the State.

Mehbooba Mufti appealed for positive reciprocation by all stakeholders of the Centre’s peace move to let people of the State come out of the zero-sum game of killings and uncertainty. The Chief Minister has conveyed her sympathies with the bereaved families and prayed for the eternal solace to the departed souls.
